2017-05-19 30-30 FTAD Method

The FTAD method stands for Finish Then Add Details. So one thing I've started to do is the 30-30 method. I set an alarm to ring ever 30 minutes and I switch from doing a Finish Then Add Details task and method to an ADTF (Add Details Then Finish)

My first focus for the FTAD method is juggling, but there are so many places this method could help.

Most of my life I've tried to create thing but always followed the ADTF method. It has not been very successful. I have lots of ideas but no implementation. Lots of juggling moves, but no routine. Ideas for books and software but no users, feedback or money.

Is FTAD just a habit or is there another reason I ADTF?

Add Details Then Finish (ADTF) has its benefits or I wouldn't do it.

Never finishing means I never have to get feedback.
Never finishing means I never have to fail.
Never finishing means I'll always have something to do. Maybe finishing like reaching a goal is something my subconscious doesn't want me to do.
Never finishing means I'll never lose money just time.

With juggling, I will do a move 100 times in a row and then it's ready for incorporation into my routine. Though doing a move 100 times is boring for the audience. The audience wants it to look effortlessly. Is juggling the same move 100 times is way too many? What's the right number of juggles? I should also look for feedback to my routine.

Then I will do the next move and then transition the two moves.

So, my practice will devote time to creating a perfected routine. I also need to practice my weakness with one and two balls.

I will also track my progress in 4 ball, 5 ball and specific moves I do like 3 balls in one hand.

Though the most fun I get is learning new tricks. The effort to perfect it is enormous.

My current favorite tricks I'm learning are:
  • 4 balls
  • 5 balls
  • Ball rolling
  • Catch on fingers and switch balls
  • Color changing ball
  • Towers
  • Mill's Mess
  • Three balls behind the back start

    What's my current routine?
  • 2 balls behind back start
  • 3 ball cascade
  • overhead
  • outer juggling
  • Yo-yo
